DreamRoom ("we", "us") makes an iPhone app that redesigns a user-selected room photo using AI and suggests products to buy. This policy identifies the data DreamRoom collects, how it is collected, why it is used, who receives it, how long it is retained, and how you can revoke consent or request deletion.
Your consent before AI processing
DreamRoom does not send a room photo to an AI provider automatically. When you first tap Generate, the app presents an AI Photo Processing disclosure that identifies the data being sent, the recipients, and the purpose. The photo is uploaded only after you tap Allow and Continue. Choosing Not Now leaves the photo on your device and cancels the AI request.
What we collect and how we use it
- User-selected room photo. After you grant permission and tap Generate, the app uploads the photo through DreamRoom's Cloudflare-hosted processing service to Google Gemini. Google Gemini processes it to create the requested redesign.
- Design instructions. The room type, selected style, color direction, budget, and any custom written request are sent with the room photo to Google Gemini so the output follows your choices.
- Generated redesign. The generated image is sent through the same service to Google Gemini a second time to identify furniture and decor for the shopping list.
- Item search terms. To match detected items to products, short text descriptions such as "black metal floor lamp" are sent to Serper, which searches Google Shopping. Serper does not receive the room photo or generated redesign.
- Subscription status and usage counter. DreamRoom verifies a signed StoreKit transaction from Apple. Our service uses the transaction's pseudonymous original transaction identifier to enforce monthly limits. We do not receive your name, card number, or other payment details; Apple handles payments.
- Approximate location (optional). Only if you use "Nearby" shopping, your device uses your approximate location to open local store searches in Apple Maps. We do not collect or store your location on our servers.
What stays on your device
Your projects, room photos, generated designs, and shopping lists are stored locally on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes them.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your photos for advertising, profiling, or to train our own models.
- We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name or email unless you contact us.
Service providers
We share data only as needed to provide features you request:
- Apple — payments and subscription verification.
- Cloudflare — secure hosting and transport for DreamRoom's processing service. Cloudflare processes the request as our infrastructure provider.
- Google Gemini — third-party AI image generation and item detection. Google receives the user-selected room photo, design instructions, and generated redesign. For paid Gemini API services, Google states that prompts, files, and responses are not used to improve its products, although inputs and outputs may be logged for a limited period for abuse monitoring. See Google's Gemini API data-retention information.
- Serper / Google Shopping — matches text-only item descriptions to products for sale and does not receive photos from DreamRoom.
DreamRoom requires each provider that receives user data to protect it to the same or an equal level as described in this policy and as required by applicable App Store privacy rules. Providers may process data only for the service purposes described above and under their applicable data-protection terms.
Data retention
- On your device: projects, room photos, generated redesigns, and shopping lists remain until you reset the project or delete the app.
- DreamRoom service: photos, generated images, and design instructions are handled in transient request memory and are not written to DreamRoom server storage. Pseudonymous monthly usage counters expire within 40 days.
- Google Gemini: paid-service inputs and outputs may be retained for a limited period solely for abuse monitoring under Google's Gemini API terms. Google states they are not used to improve its products.
- Serper: receives only text search terms and handles them under its service terms.
Children
DreamRoom is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your choices
You may decline AI processing and continue using the app's non-AI features. You can revoke previously granted AI permission anytime inside DreamRoom at Settings → AI & Privacy → Revoke AI Processing Permission. After revocation, DreamRoom will not make another AI upload unless you grant permission again. You can revoke camera, photo-library, and location access in iOS Settings. Reset Project or deleting the app removes locally stored project data. To request deletion or ask a privacy question, email us at the address below.
Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new version here with a revised date.
